Goes the Hindu devotional song in my neighbours house ..There is no need of alarm in Ramaswamy Kulakarai , each day start with loud music , each neighbour showing off their Tape Recorder ...
In the house where there is no Tape Recorder , we can here Radio Broadcast program "Indru oru
thagaval" ...
I wake up amist the loud music , good i that suggested my mom it is better idea to get milk
from aavin booth while returning from school , so that i can wake up little late , otherwise i have
wakeup early at 5:30AM , stand in a big queue to get the milk from aavin , it was not just me
it was the daily routine from the young boys of my age to get the milk in the morning , it so
terrified to stand in a such big queue .. Now things have changed i can get the milk while
returning from school at 3:30PM.
Another big task in the morning is standing in line for the restroom ... Sometimes we get
bullied by elder and there will be a big fight until the landlord comes and resolves the problem.
We lived a row house , it had six sheet house consisting of kitchen and a hall, it had only two
bathroom and one restroom .. Kids & Men take bath near the common well in open space ..
Good i was a guy , no need to wait for the bathroom.
My sister daily task in the morning is fill six plastic pot of water , i had a luxury of using up
one pot of water for my bath .. I like this tooth powder Gopal Tooth powder , i tastes good and most of the time i eat them rather than brushing .. As i take bath , i see landlord grand daugther peeping from
concrete roofed house , as she giggles at me , i turn my face from her , quickly finish my bath and rush to my house.
Today also Mom got stomach pain in the morning , she is not able to stand upright by holding stomach she prepares Dal rice for me . My sister gets midday meal from the school , since i was in
english medium i won't get midday meal. I dont know why mom move my sister from english medium
to tamil medium , i was thinking just for midday meal my mom moved or may be my sister failed in
english medium. As the pain have increased my mom asked me to get something from athai canteen
for side dish and she went back to bed .
I see my father is still sleeping in the watchmen kakki dress , i see Mini is sleeping near him . Mini
is my neighbour cat , my father hates cat and most of the time , he throws her out of the house , but
Mini still sleeps near him .. I silent carry out Mini from father side and leave it in my neighbour shanti
akka house , she gives big smile as i carry Mini to her house .. I love cats , i like playing with thread ..
Its 8:00 AM already , small school gates closes by 8:20 , my sister and i rush to the school ..
My mom shouts , don't run ... My sister and i , both tipped and fell in the road and had stitches in our
forehead. So we join our gang of friends to rush to the school with giggles and laughs.
